Once Krishna’s friends had complained to Yashoda that Krishna had eaten dirt. Krishna stated to His
mother that His friends were lying. He asked His mother just to look into His mouth if she didn’t believe Him. When
Yashoda looked into Krishna’s mouth, she suddenly saw the whole universe, with its planets, seas, islands, and oceans.
She was momentarily bewildered and was overcome with awe and reverence. Krishna then covered His mother with maternal affection
so she could accept Him as her son, and she said, “Alright, just close your mouth.” This pastime is mentioned
in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, 10th canto, 8th chapter.
